Changed system drive letter

by rtd.steele . Updated 17 years, 2 months ago

I installed a new copy of Windows XP on a new drive and because I had some other drives already set up in the PC the new install gave Windows XP the drive letter of H. I went into regedit and changed the drive letter to C and now when I boot it only goes as far as the light blue windows logo – the one you see before the desktop appears. I rebooted and chose to boot to the last known good configuration but the same thing happens. I hope I do not have to reinstall. (I didn’t have any programs installed because it was a fresh install)
