Changing DNS Server Name? or Work Around

by cbarone . Updated 24 years, 9 months ago

I created a Domain structure for a new company that I started at about a month ago.

The DNS Server that was running before I installed Active Directory was called Slingshotsolutions.com. My company has a website hosted under the same name calledSlingshotsolutions.com.

Here is my problem: When I set clients with the Primary DNS of of the internal DNS called Slingshotsolutions.com they can not pull up the webpage on the internet. Note! Everyone has access to everything on the internet except the internet site under the same name as our internal DNS server. When I change the Primary DNS back to the Two provided by our ISP they can access the External Webpage (Slingshotsolutions.com).

I know people here can not access the public website because the internal DNS is the same name as the public website.

Is there a work around this? If you even understand this problem:)
Can I rename the DNS Server without effected the entire network?

Thanks for your help in advance.
