Changing logon restriction

By ellie.gutman ·
Some time ago I configured a particular computer in my domain to allow only 2 users to log on. I now need to add another person and can't remember how I did it. I'm running Windows 2003 server with AD and the computer in question is running XP SP2. Any help would be appreciated.

Try looking in the local security policy on the xp machine. You might have removed the "allow logon locally" right from the Domain Users group and assigned it to your two users.

If you haven't done anything in AD all you should need to do is Open the Control Panel on the computer and click on User Accounts and then add another User Account by following the steps there. You can also chose to have different level of access to the system for different User Accounts here.

If you have done this through AD then you'll need to do it from the Server but depending on how you originally set up the dual accounts the answer varies from this point on.
