Changing Permissions in a Groups

By ames ·
We moved one of our groups and it changed the permissions of the groups. Anyone know of a simple script to change over 1000 users to their original permissions.

If you have a recent ERD then just repair the SAM database.

If you don't have a recent ERD then you will have to know the orginal permissions and use xcacls from the resource kit to restore the permissions.

If I understand your questions correctly... you should be able to just assign the appropriate permissions to the groups; it will automatically reassign them to the users that are included in that group. If, however, the users are no longer in the group, then you will have to do as suggested in #1 - ERD.

The easiest way is #2's answer. Permissions assigned to a group cascade to its members.
