Changing Shortcut Keys

By brian ·
Hi,

I recently configured my F3 key to launch an app on my desktop (using the shortcut properties). I then decided to clear it, but it still does the same thing. I checked other shortcuts to the same app and they are all cleared. I want the default (Find) assigned back to it.

That will teach you to mess with standard windows settings. I hadn't set hot keys since DOS. In order to get your old F3 search back I believe you'll have to edit the registry, use the menu and search(without the F3) for the file you invoked with F3. Someone more knowledgeable than I will surely give you the exact key to change, Otherwise boot to DOS, attrib -s -h -r /s,
deltree c:\windows and reload windows, applications,... Your data should be ok. It wouldn't hurt to back it up though.Good luck!

Let me see if I got this right. It's OK to mess with the Registry, but DON'T mess with standard windows settings.
