Changing System Settings through Program

Manually we can change the network adapter property by going to
Settings -> System Properties -> Network Adapter Properties -> Device Usage: Disable in this hardware profile (to be checked manually). How can we change the same through VB programming (checking the " Disable in this hardware profile" property of a network adapter in Win9

Changing System Settings through Program

The 'Settings -> System Properties -> Network Adapter Properties' is just an applet that will allow you to make changes to the registry. If you determine exactly what key you want to change in the registry, you can a file within regedit to make thedesired change in the registry.

I haven?t had a lot of luck finding what I need in the registry, but there are programs out there that can record changes to the registry. Run the recorder program, change the setting, stop the recorder, and it should tell you what keys got changed where. From that, you should be able to determine what you need.

Trying to have a VB Script run the applet and choose the option and close is probably going to be a lot more difficult then finding the registry key.

Hope that helps
