I’m helping a school with a $1200 annual tech budget get a desktop security solution in place. It’s a private school, so they’re not going to get add’l funding either. They have 60 PCs and two W2K3 servers. Dell and HP PCs’ age range from brand-new to about three or four years, and RAM is anywhere from 128 to 512 MB. They’ve been using 60 individual installations of Norton, McAfee, and AVG, and they need a centrally managed AV solution (signatures, installation, monitoring, alerting). Any suggestions? And really, they are also looking for web filtering – the current solution is the parental controls that came with the Norton or McAfee. So a network web-filtering system too? Or maybe a host-based IPS solution? I’m open to whatever. Thanks in advance!
