Daft question coming up and I should know the answer.
After running chkdsk on my systems C: drive it reported that the file system was damaged and I should rerun ckdsk /F option.
I tried that but chkdsk said that it couldn't lock the disk.
I'm runningXP SP2.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Regards Allan.

the disk check for next reboot, then reboot. The disk check will run at that time.

Thanks Mr Wiz, chkdsk told me about that one as well. However (there's always an however), I found a way via windows via Start>My computer, right click the disk>properties>tools and the follow your nose.
Thanks again.

Let windows schedule disk check

by illxile In reply to Let windows schedule

That is what I keep trying to do, but it gets to the stage of checking files and goes right on to booting. If there is an error message it goes too fast for me to read.

Any suggestions?????
