I am 31 years old, I have a wife and 3 kids. I’m planning on going back to school to eventually earn a PhD in Structural Engineering. I found out that the University of Texas(which I’ve always loved)is the #4 Civil Eng. school in the country. I would loved to go there but obviously have to move me and my family to Austin. My question is would it be better to make that move or just stay in Houston and obtain my degrees from Rice or the University of Houston? Would future employeers consider my choice of school a downside to my qualifications?
