Choosing study destination and course

By s_shwetha ·
I am basically a graduate of commerce. In addition to this I have completed a two-year software engineering course at NIIT and a hardware course at IIHT. Also, I am a Microsoft Certified Professional. I have totally 6 years of experience in the software support field. I want to pursue my studies and wish to complete a Masters course in one of the following areas:
1. Computer Science
2. Networking
3. Information Security

I am applying to US as well as Australian universities.

My questions are:
1. Which is a better study and employment destination, US or Australia?
2. Which is a better study option in terms of opportunities and later growth -- Networking, Comp Sc or Info Security?

I can't speak to whether the prospects are better in the US or Austrialia; however, I can say that Networking and Information Security are very necessary knowledge sets. Comp Sci is more generalist in nature and gives you a little of everything.

So, my question to you is what do you want to do in the real world of work? What is your passion? Getting a degree just to have one, is ok if that is the choice, but if wanting to tie it to a job you need to know how it improves you for that job.

If you love Networking, then follow that path, if you love Info Security, then follow that path. If you don't know what you really want then you need to establish that first then look at the degree and location.
