Cisco 871W and Dual ISP config?

By wvrconsulting ·
Hello All,

I have a Cisco 871W router and need to know if anyone has configured it for dual isp's. I have a cable and DSL connection and both are ethernet handoffs and static Ip. I am looking to load balance between the ISPs and then if one fails then fail over to the other.

To me it would seem possible to use the wan port and then use one of the other ports. Or use the Wan port with sub interfaces.

I have looked at OER but it is not supported on this model.

Any input is appreciated.

Nope.. The sad thing is this $600 router could not do what a $200 Linksys router could do.. I ended up using a Linksys RV042 router. It does load balancing and redundancy plus has VPN and SPI support. It lacks wireless, but with the money I saved I bought a wireless access point and still had money to spare.. I hope this helps.. Thanks for the followup.
