Cisco AS5300 NT authentication

By lost ·
I am considering purchasing a Cisco AS5300 as my new RAS server. Can
anyone tell me how or what I need to do to authenticate my NT users after
they dial in. Also I am hoping to use the AS5300 as a outbound dial modem
for networked PCs. Is this possible? How?

Cisco AS5300 NT authentication

I currently use an AS5300 to provide dial-in access and users are authenticated from the NT database by a product called CiscoSecure. It runs on an NT server and can authenticate users either against the domain or against an internal CiscoSecure database.

On your second question, I'm not absolutely positive but as far as I know, the AS5300 does NOT support outbound dialing. In the Cisco literature I have on it, there is no mention of outbound dialing and many statements within the technical description suggest that only inbound dialing is supported. That would be a good question for the sales rep before you place the order.
