Cisco PIX Expert

I have configure a site to site VPN on two router and to provide a second link just in case the routers goes down. I set up another site to site VPN for two Cisco PIX.

all default gateway are point to the Router, and all others beside the site to site VPN requests will be forward to the PIX to forward the traffic to a ADSL router out to the internet

I was just wondering if there is any command line that will allows the PIX to automatically take up the VPN roles if the router goes down.

Thank you

i do not know. my suggestion is join and post this type of question on the firewall wizards mail list. find it at if you can't find it. they are kind to well crafted newbie posts. i have lurked for years and maybe you can't get there from anymore but that is how i found them...

In the router u need to add the route for the pix ip and has to give the administrative distance high. So all the times the packet will give the preference to low administrative distance. If in case the low AD value path gets down then automatically the packet will transfer via high AD path.
