CIsco router

I'd made some changes on the Cisco routers,is it the changes immediately take effect or i need to restart the router after i saved it.Pls advise.

Generally after you write your changes to memory (write term), test, and save the configuration (write config).

You do not need to power cycle the router to get it working under the new configuration.

Cisco router changes are immediate but must be manually written to memory. 'show run' will display the configuration that is currently running on your router; 'show conf' displays the written configuration for the router.
