assuming you know the password

Assuming that you know the password for the virtual terminal lines on the router and switch, the basic command would be SHOW RUNNING-CONFIG
which can be shortened to SH RU. Another command to configure it is CONFIG and then select the option you wish to use for the place the configuration is coming from. (These commands are for the router.) Go to www.cisco.com. You can find all the commands you ever hoped to there. Just enter into the search box on the homepage what you want to find and you will get a large listing.

You need to make sure it is in "Enable Mode" Type in "enable" and hit "Enter"
Then you need to be in "Config Mode" Type in "Config Term" for configure terminal.
Then to get the config to screen, type in "write term" That will write the config tothe terminal or screen.
Hope this helps.
