Cisco VPN Client Restarts XP

By dmoore ·
When connected to work through Cisco VPN Client connection, everything works fine until I DISCONNECT the VPN from work. It restarts my Windows XP.

I have check all the updates to ensure I am up-to-date. The only thing I can think of is something was installed on the computer that may have cuases this to happen. I have another machine that has VPN and it's Win XP and it's ok.
Has anyone run into this problem? I have uninstall everthing I can possible uninstall that I don't need. The system is running Minimal applications.

I saw a few recomendations to turn off the XP firewall before you connect the VPN client. So, that is the question for you:
Are you running the XP firewall? if so, turn it off before you start up the Cisco VPN client. Connect the client, then disconnect it and see if XP still reboots or not.
hope this helps

I am not using the WinXP Firewall. We are using the Sygate firewall. However, it is shutdown to trouble shoot the problem. But still resets the computer. I have also check the motherboard for possible Overheat and also check the sensor. The motherboard checks out ok, This machine has Dural boot for Win 200 and XP. 2000 doesn't give me a problem. We have also running Symantec Anitvirus running the 11/1 virus list update. The Scan didn't find anything. Any other suggestions?
