Clean up

By john.cb1 ·
Does anyone know of any software that will clear up all the old files that have been left behind after i have uninstalled a software.
I would like it to optimize the hard drive so it makes the hard drive run quicker.

I usually run screaming when it comes to Norton products but I have to admit that Notrton System Works is great for those who wish to safely clean without a lot of experience in Windows.

The trick to system works, is after removing softwaer or deleting files, empty the recycle bin BEFORE running the WinDoctor, it will then not recover items from the recysle bin and will simply delecte any orphoned files.

Another tool I use is Iolo's System Mechanic. Similar to how Norton scans for orphans, System Mechanic will look for infrequently accessed files, orphaned registry keys and settings, left over files from uninstalls and can also monitor changes when installing software so you can easily remove ALL traces my referring to the changes made on install.

Norton System Works can be found at

IOLO's System Mechanic can be found at

Both have trials, you can get cracks but the softwaer isn't expensive and will be a good investment. Worth trying out for sure as they offer simplicity with accuracy.

Try the program "YOUR UNINSTALLER 2002" and/or "REG CLEANER"
