Cleaning System Restore Points

by emar1000 . Updated 18 years, 9 months ago

I just finished reading Steve Warren’s “Improving Windows XP Performance Part IV” and it was actually very good. Only thing I would change is turning off system restore. There really is no reason to turn it off. I have saved myself more than once by using it. I suggest cleaning out restore points. I have yet to see someone mention this. If you go to disk clean up “when it is done checking the disk” click on the more options tab. The bottom section cleans all restore points except the latest one. I gained 5 gigs doing this. Just make sure your last restore point is a good one and you are all set.

This may sound like a basic tip but I have never seen anyone mention it, its always turn off system restore. I dont think thats a good practice.
