cleaning the registry

Has anyone any suggestions on a free tool that will scan, fix and optimise xp's registry with minimal fuss (less buttons the better).

CCleaner is one of the favourites around here ...

It's been a stalwart part of my toolbox for years.

It's best to run it recursively (like stripping wallpaper - there's maybe another layer underneath ) so run it until you get no errors three times in a row.

it will find more errors in your registry than ccleaner will

ccleaner is great for cleaning up temp files
