Is there a way to clear out the Pagefile upon a restart of your workstation, and would this be advantageous to do?

The pagefile can become fragmented and may need to be cleared or recreated. A fragmented pagefile can effect system perfomance. The previous answer should work but, If it does not you can start the computer with a dos disk delete the pagefile then restart and let windows recreate it for you. I just saw an article on this website yesterday about the pagefile. It had a lot of good information. Do a search for it. If you can't find it let me know I'll try to retrace my steps.

Well the first answer tells you how to clear the pagefile, but not why. The second makes assumptions regarding your question.
Follow the first answer to clear the page file, this will set it to all zeros and prevent a hacker from using the swapped info to crack your system. does this have any advantages to you ???
Shrinking or deleteing, to recreate as a contigous file is a different issue, but can be done by simply setting to the minimum rebooting, defraging, rebooting, and setting to the desired size. This also has it's advantages, search for info on pagefile size.
