Clearning Word's User Dictionary

By cmorus ·
During the course of the year, students often ADD incorrect words to the user dictionary. I used to know how to clean out the entire dictionary and start over, but I have forgotten. I don't want to just edit it. I want to start with a clean slate. If I remove the dictionary, will it create a new, clean one? Thanks.

Yes, it will recreate. The custom dictionaries use DIC as an extention. Delete or rename tose files. You'l, probably also want to delete the Normal.dot, and ACL files.
The MS Knowledge base article #Q172674 will tell you where settings are stored for eachversion of Word.
