Client/Server Anti-Spyware Solution

By BlitzSonik ·
Does anyone have any first hand knowledge/experience with any of the Anti-Spyware Enterprise Editions? I have tested PestPatrol Corporate Edition, WebRoot's SpySweeper, and preparing to test X-Cleaner Enterprise Edition but I am not finding the kind of results I was expecting.

Thanks for your input.

Try this:
Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Suite
Fairly transparent to users. Installs as proxy to client.

Looks good but I don't need a entire suite of things because we already have all that in place and working perfectly. Management won't spring for replacing what we have. I just need an Anti-Spyware solution.

Can you explain exactly what kind of results/options you are looking for in a anti-spyware program?

Be sure to have the legal counsel of the firm advise them on legal implications of spyware. You might be suprised after the "personal liability of management, officers of the company and boards of directors," is fully explained what they might well be eager to pay for.

I've run into the same issue in client organizations before and have always been amused when legal explains that all the houses, nice cars, vacations go poof when the court finds the organization and management legally liable for an incident.

Ad-Aware does not have an Enterprise Edition. I have contacted them regarding one but haven't gotten a repsponse. I am in need of only Corporate or Enterprise Editions as I am not about to try and manage 300 installations seperately.

I'm looking into the same anti-spyware programs as you are. What type of results are you after and might be able to help with what I've found out from my tests.

Spybot does make a program that will allow you to update all installs of spybot that you have installed on your network.

Our company is also looking at a way to stop Spyware, Malware, and the like.

Take a look at Greenborder.

It creates a locked down virtual machine for "untrusted" content to run in (IE and external E-mail). Unlike most solutions this lets everything run - both good and bad - but once you click "close" everything it was running is gone. No registry changes, no keystroke logging, nothing.

Our company looked at the product and we really liked what we say (it's not easy to impress an entire IT dept with a product). Although our management balked at the price (the one bad thing about the product) I think this is an innovative and secure way to prevent all this garbage from harming your network.

For security and it's ability to stop harmful material I give it a 9.5/10.
For price I give it a 3/10.

I know it wasn't on your list - but if you can afford it, I'd recommend it.

We are using Webroots software and they just put out a second update that pushes the update to each computer. We have a small shop only 75 or so computers. But it seems to be vary effective. I have run other software on a few of the desk tops. And have found vary little it did not remove. I also down loaded from sites like Gator and screen saver updater. And it stopped the syp/malware that come with the software. We are happy with it and got a vary good price!
