Client Uninstall

By Shanghai Sam ·
I am currently using an IBM 365XD notebook running Win95, which I was forced to purchase as condition of employment by previous employer to communicate with the network.

On it was installed client-server for IBM AS/400, which when I left the company was never properly un-installed.

My problems are these:
1) On my desktop an icon still appears for "AS/400 Network" which I can't figure out how to remove; it's not a shortcut (with the little shortcut arrow) and the Properties is grayed out, so I can't figure out the target or where it resides. I've tried searches for .ico in files and in registry, didn't find. How do I get rid of it?
2) Similarly, in the course of boot up, I get a DOS screen saying that in Windows/System cannot find cwbrxd.exe or one of its libraries. This then goes away and boot continues. cwbrxd.exe doesn't exist on the drive anywhere, but I'd like to eliminate that DOS scrren appearing. I've tried searching .ini files but can't find anything refering tothis. Any ideas how to eliminate this?
Additionally, under Network Configuration, I have listed 1) Client for Microsoft Networks, 2) Client for Netware Networks, 3) Dial-Up Adapter for PPP, RAS and Netware Conntect 4) IPX/SPX-compatible protocol and 5) TCP/IP
Since these are listed under Network, can I remove any or all of them?

Easiest first.

The netware client unstaller is named unc32.exe; you can find it here:

After that you can remove any of the other network components you wish.

Next, read this:

If you don't have any of the program entries listed here, you can get rid of the error message by starting regedit and searching the registry for cwbrxd.exe and deleting it. If you don't have program entries for the AS/400 client whoever sanitized the machine just deleted the application instead of unistalling it.
