Client w98 set MSN winproxy 1.5.Host XP

I have from two PC conecat with crossed cable in red, the equipment are seen level of ping and of network internet(first it is a XP and the second is w98), they sail without problem and it tries to install and configuration the
MSN, version 5.0, forms it just as to explorer with the same server
and port, but it gives error me of conexiont to intenet or proxy (winproxy 1.5.1).

Do you know that I can be needing, or that I must make to solve problem?

The error it bad connection or configuration the proxy….
i have xp with tcp:90.0.0.1; the 98 with 90.0.0.2 and port it 1080.
