Clip Art for Office 2000 Pro
I'm trying to install Clip Art that came with Office 97 Professional Edition. Everytime I try to setup it ask to install Microsoft Clip Gallery 3.1. I've try it both in Office 97 Pro and Office 2000 Pro. It still ask for the same thing. What do I have to do to install all these clif art in? If not how do I work around to have all the clip arts install.
Answer 1:
On Office 97 CD you should see a folder by name Clipart. Open that folder you see setup. Run this setup and choose Custom and make sure you select all the options. This will install ClipArt for you.

From Vuitanh on 07/13/00 03:20 PM EDT: It asked to installed MS Clip Gallery 3.1 frist before installing Clip Art.

Open the Control Panel, click the Add/Remove programs, click on the install tab and select the program to install from the list on the CD,install theclipart from the disk.
Second choice would be to open Word, click on insert on the tool bar,in the drop down list select clip art,if a question comes up click on the command button.

My situation is the same, I found out what files should be there and they are all there. I have tried all the Re-installs and nothing seems to work. Could I go to another machine and copy all the files and overwrite files on this machine? Any other options would be greatly appreciated.

I am aware of the clip arts online, but this computer will have veyr limited on line access. I am more concerned about removing the message that asks to install clip gallery 3.1 Whenever I try to modify a clip that is already in place I get this message and all my other clip art is not listed.

I have found I think another option. Microsoft has a file called eraser97.exe which will remove the registry files for office97. I may try that and then reinstall office.

You should have art gallery 5.0, which is the same version as office 97. Location of the files in windows 97&2000 should be C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Artgalry. Dbl click a file named artgalry.exe and you should get a message stating that "clip gallery is now configured to run on your computer". If you then double click on the file cag.exe, the clip gallery will open and run as a stand alone application. You can import many clipart files at once into the gallery from office 97 CD or anywhere. Make sure you select "Import Clips" and the Clip import option to "copy into clip gallery" once there, you can select categories and either use existing or create new. You should then be able to insert the clipart into any office document. If you continue to get error, check the registry, HKLocal_Machine\software\microsoft\ClipArt Gallery. (2.0, 3.0 should be empty except for REG_SZ) 5.0 should have all the data.(office is under Themes 1,2)
