    Cloud vulnerability ?

    Locked

    by mike ·

IS there even the remotest chance that once we are all in the cloud someone, bad person, your government, unfriendly power, could shut you down? (China v Google). Is there any chance that getting everyone into the cloud is in itself a plot to gain centralized control and access our information? Of course this is paranoid – right? Silly me! Everyone is only seeking my benefit – right? I will therefore gladly relinquish control (what little I have) over my own destiny and jump into the cloud. Unfortunately it seems like sky diving – once you’ve jumped you clearly understand the meaning of the word committed – meaning there is(will eventually be)no way back – right?

the No Such Agency will be after you if you keep exposing their plots. 😉
“Is there any chance that getting everyone into the cloud is in itself a plot to gain centralized control and access our information?”

and it is the biggest hurdle for cloud adoption for most enterprises. they have to “trust” someone else to secure their CONFIDENTIAL data.

You both keep your mouth shut. I run the whole conspiracy from here.

Keep talking and large men, wearing dark glasses and unzipped black leather coats, will come knocking.

The mental health acts will be used to firstly have you picked up by police if necessary, allegations being made against you are carefully kept out of a court where you would have the opportunity to face your accuser, and secondly you will be placed in a mental health centre where you will be divorced from everything which makes you an individual, diagnosed as paranoid whatever, drugged and generally kept incommunicado until you start behaving and talking as required.

You’re starting from a false premise.

      Instead of

“IS there even the remotest chance that once we are all in the cloud …”,

      try

“Is there even the remotest chance that we will all in the cloud?”

      And the answer is, “No.”

I agree but Microsoft seems to think so!

“NO” is the correct answer! but microsoft cloud services seems to think so (check essential topics in TR) and may eventually withdraw support for non cloud apps ? I can hardly believe they will, but there again – who spotted Madhoff ? – only 1 guy crying in the wilderness. Having said that I do use the cloud for database and email and very grateful for them I am too.
