cmos checksum-processor not known-cannot boot- new board and processor

jsherm3 new m860 pc chips mobo and new amd 3400 semperon proc. the problem is it starts to post but there is no bios. after it lists the drives it ends with the message ;
cmos checksum bad
cmos date/time not set
*****warning: unknown processor****
the processor installed in your system is not known by the bios. please contact your bios vendor for appropriate updates.
fatal error…system halted

then there are two quick beeps and it halts.any help will be appreciated.
