Did it come with an owner's manual?

If so, check there first. If not, check the manufacturer's web site to see if you can download one, then check it.

RE: How do i get the old battery safely out of my kt400

I'm not exactly sure what a KT400 is other than a Via Chip Set for AMD CPU's

So here is a General BIOS Replacement Guide. Unplug the Mains lead from the case, open the case as per the makers recommendation, using a small screwdriver push the Locating Tab back to allow the Coin Sized BIOS Battery to pop up and then lift the battery out. Replace with the same type of Battery and make sure that the Polarity is correct. This is generally a CR2032 Type Battery but check with the M'Boards Maker Users Manual first before buying a new Battery or remove the battery and read the Type number from the Case of the Battery.

When the Battery is correctly replaced plug the mains back in and turn on. Open the BIOS as per the Makers Recommendation and set the Data & Time then exit the BIOS Saving the Changes and allow the computer to restart normally.

Go here for your diagram to locate your cosmos battery..

If you look at the motherboards on this site, you will see a little round silver battery.
This is similar to yours. To take it out, you will need a very small screw driver. Once out replace it with a new one of the same size and number. The number can be located on the top of the battery.
