CMOS RAM

TRIED TO CHANGE PROSSER AND WHEN POWERED UP, GOT AN ERROR MESSAGE CMOS RAM HAD BEEN CLEARED AND TO SHUT DOWN. PLEASE HELP ME GET BACK UP AGAIN!! I HAVE TO USE MY COMPUTER A LOT. THANK'S KENNY

It sounds like you may have accidentally pulled the jumper that clears the CMOS. You need to consult your PC or Motherboard manual and put it back on in the correct place. Let me know if you have any questions.

I suspect that your CMOS back-up battery is weak.

The full shut down to change the CPU may have been enough to drain the battery to the point where the CMOS was reset.

Check / replace the battery.
Boot up again, and enter setup.
Adjust the BIOS settings as needed.
CPU clock speed,
RAM speed,
Date and time,
Drive types and boot order,
Port settings, printer port in particular
Power management

Save settings and exit setup.

The system should boot up and be okay.
