    CNE Certification

    I am one test away from my Novell CNE but I will not finish it until after the August 31 deadline to do the 4.11 to 5.0 update. Does anyone know what I need to do to keep my cert after I get it if I am not able to take the 4.11 to 5.0 update on or before the August 31 deadline. I talked to Novell about this and they said that I would then be able to take the 4.11 to 5.1 update. Does anyone know if this is true.

      Novell would be foolish not to offer the update to you after the deadline. They are obviously antsy about their current CNE’s intention of upgrading to 5 right now. (I got a phone call at home from them last week wanting to know my intentions concerning the upgrade.) They will be under heavy scrutiny by press and stock-holders if a majority of current CNEs don’t upgrade by the deadline. I assume those who do not will lose their status only until they upgrade.
