Here I am trying to help yet another friend in deed.
She has a Compaq Desktop with AMD,256 RAM running Windows ME. No one has ever told her the importance of deleting cookies,history,Temp Internet files,and Temp files. Also booting up in SAFE MODE > START > PROGRAMS > ACCESSSORIES > SYSTEM TOOLS > SCANSISC….then DEFRAGMENTATER. ( I know, I know, what kind of friend am I ?)
Anyway, I asked her how many programs are in her window when she hits the CONTROL,ALT,DELETE and she counted 23.
How do I know what programs are needed for starting up the computer? It seems far too many startup programs running in the background slows down this puter. I asked her what her system resources are and she said 52%.
What else could I do to help her get this system to work a little more faster? Thanks!
