Coax to RCA

by khanwasif . Updated 18 years, 4 months ago

I have an atari 7800 which has a single output source like many old systems. This output plug looks exactly like a single RCA wire. The only problem is that it is just like a Coax wire. In other words, this single wire contains the audio and video needed to play the system. The question is what is the easiest way to convert this single wire output into the modern 3-wire RCA cable.
I know I can convert this plug to Coax and run it through my VCR, but i am already using that for something else. And I don’t want to spend $100 for an RF Demodulator since I am thinking there MUST be an easier way. Coax wire can hold multiple channels so I can understand that its a problem to convert a normal cable tv signal to a 3-wire RCA connection, but in my case, this wire has only one output on channel 3 so why can’t i just take that single wire output and convert it to three-wire RCA cables without using hi-tech devices.
ANY ideas from our technical experts on this forum are welcome and appreciated.
Thanks.
