Cobol application support & development

By paulbgreen ·
I've got a team of analysts/programmers supporting a large multi-national company migrating to another system. They'll soon have spare capacity for other projects, are there still systems out there (legacy or otherwise) that need support and development ?

There are still TRILLIONS of lines of Cobol code in production. Along with RPG, PL/I, Fortran, APL, LISP, ALGOL, even BAL. I was in a data center a couple of months ago, the main processing center of a very large multinational organization that shall remain nameless, and they proudly displayed their dozens of mission critical applications running in Model 204.

Trillions ?

possibly, it's tapping into them. I don't have a huge team, but there's years of experience that's going to go to waste if I don't keep 'em thinking !
We're based in the U.K., with not much exposure, and although we support companies world-wide in one sector, I suspect it's not the most lucrative one !
