COM+ Error after applying GPO for WSUS

by christophz . Updated 19 years, 7 months ago

I Installed a WSUS server on a Windows Server 2003 in my domain (AD W2k3). After creating a GPO with information about the WSUS Server and update information, and applying it to a Windows 2000 Server, I get the following Event-Log entries on my Windows 2000 Server:

Type: Warning
Event Source: EventSystem
Event Category: Firing Agent
Event ID: 4098
Date: 12.08.2005
Time: 11:23:03
User: N/A
Computer: MEWET05
Description:
The COM+ Event System failed to fire the StartShell method on subscription {2F519218-754D-4CFE-8DAA-5215CD0DE0EB}. The subscriber returned HRESULT 80010108.

The same error comes with a variety of methods:

StartShell
Logon
Logoff
DisplayLock
DisplayUnlock
StartScreenSaver
StopScreenSaver
etc.

This only happens on Windows 2000 machines. My Windows XP and Server 2003 are fine, even after applying the same GPO.

Can anyone help?
