Combining DSL and Cable?

By rbaker23 ·
In my house I have DSL and my roommate has Cable access. (Our companies pay for each btw) We have 2 computers total.
Is there any possible way to combine the two to increase my download and upload speeds?
They are both connected via CAT5 cable. Isit possible to have 2 nics in each machine and a download manager to decipher the two?
-Thanks in advance!

Off the top of my head, I'd recommend a loadsharing function on a router frontending both ISP interfaces.

Unless you are both huge bandwith hogs, You might just both use one system and split the proceeds from the other.

uh.... but that wouldbe unethical, so I cannot suggest that.

I haven't tried it, since in my area neither one has been avaiable long, but have you tried configuring the connection using the multi-link option in Windows? It allows you to join two modem connections to increase bandwidth, but I haven't checked to see if it supports two NICs.

I have located a comsumer device that will perform the function of load balancing accross duel WAN links. This is the cheapest device I could find. Below is the link to the device.
