Somebody, please help me!!! I have a user who ran Win 95 till yesterday. He had MS Office installed on his machine, rebooted it after the intallation and 2 errors prevent him from getting into windows. 1st, there is a blue screen says that NortonAV could not autoprotect windows and that logging on the network as well as authentication will not be possible. After that windows begins to load and the username/password screen comes up. Then, i get an error message saying that comctl32.dll will not start. The computers hangs after that. We have tried to rem lines in autoexec.bat; we have copied the same file (comctl32.dll) from another computer, replacing the one on the bad machine – nothing seems to work. PLEASE, tell me – is there anything i can do to restore win 95, or somehow upgrage to win 98 (not intall from scratch) – something that will not lose all of his programs taht will be wiped out if i reintall Windows?
