Comletely Delete Files

by tagaffney . Updated 18 years, 2 months ago

In attempting to install a new computer security system (Kaspersky), I am messaged to remove a current security system (Norton) before proceeding. Evidently, I have been unable to totally remove all the Norton files, because I am messaged that the files remaining can only be deleted “Setup.” Now, when I attempt to use “Setup” from my Norton disk, I am messaged, like the Kaspersky installation, that I must remove an existing security system. It looks like I’m stuck – I can’t remove a current system and can’t install a new one, because of files remaining on my computer. I’ve tried everything, including contacting Norton, to remove these Norton Files, but have had no success. Is there a way to positively remove all the Norton Files, or to somehow install a new security system over those un-deletable files? My computer needs some form of security and I would even go back to installing a newer version of Norton, if I could get solve the problem of file removal.

Thank you.
