command at Run dissapear

Can anybody explain to me why suddenly the Run command from Start menu can disappear? Is it i am running some cleaning process like delete cookies that cause the case? any idea to prevent it happen again?

Right click on your task bar (not on START), and go into PROPERTIES > START MENU tab > and which ever type you are using (Start Menu or Classic Start Menu), click on ADVANCE of either one and make sure RUN (or RUN COMMAND) is clicked.

Check Group Policies using gpedit.msc.

are you on a domain or is this a stand-alone computer? if on a domain, this could be removed by Group Policy or even the local Group Policy

Hi

I don't know why your Run command would have disappeared, but you can create this regsitry key to bring it back:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\StartMenuRun

and should be a DWORD value where the value itself should be hexadecimal 1

I am having the same problem but I am wondering how is it you add the reg key as stated without the run command to use to start regedit and get into your registry??

Sorry I m sure you have found the answer long by now but for others having the same issue
Simply locate regedit.exe found in your windows folder and double click on it

Didnt find startmenu run

Hi,

I have opened regedit but i didn't see STARTMENURUN.. is it so that it is not logged in administrator or other issue??
