Command Line Gnome Virtual Desktop Switcher

by gsi_3wg . Updated 21 years, 11 months ago

Good day.

I wish to tap into the extensive experience of readers.

I use a few RedHat 9 Linux boxes. Running on X and Gnome as window manager. Each of these boxes are configured with 8 or 10 virtual desktops.

I wish to know if there is a tool that could be used to switch from
Gnome virtual desktop # 1 to
Gnome Virtual Desktop # x as a parameter.

The goal here is to put right under my nose the Virtual desktop running a certain application when a certain event occurs.

This app is a bash script.

I know that there is such a command for the Text mode console terminals but it not working properly for Gnome Virtual terminals.

Thanks for your time.
