I have ten stores setup using PPTP to my router, problem is the Microsoft Client keeps on dropping out (just standard ADSL line dropout) and I have to log in to reconnect. Does anyone know of a Command line option or Windows option to schedule the Virtual Private connection to run every few hours ? thus keeping my connection logged on all the time.

You can initiate the tunnel from the command line and therefore a script using rasdial. http://tinyurl.com/9ldgg
If you're looking for a (free) alternative, take a look at OpenVPN http://openvpn.net/
I now use it almost exclusively on my Windows and Linux systems. I rarely get dropped connections, it's efficient, automatically reconnects, has no NAT traversal issues and when run as a service under XP establishes a tunnel prior to login.
