This sucks. Win 98 SE system, getting error message ‘this NIC is not configured properly, please reinstall’ but NIC works fine. The j2585A has known issues with 98 SE, but HP’s fixes don’t work. I have tried everything…removing and reinstalling, disabling the PnP and manually installing new drivers, etc. I need to know how to get the NIC to be recoginized properly by Win 98 or how to supress Win 98 error messages so that my End users don’t have kittens. I have forty of these bad boys. HELP!
