Company IT Security Policy. How?

By David W Oliver ·
Can anyone pse tell me how to create a script which shows up to a user after he has logged on to a NT4 network. This script would contain a statement outlining company IT policy and would have a "I Agree" and "I do not Agree" check box at the bottom. If the user checked the "I do not Agree" box he would be "kicked off the net" to be blunt. This idea is something similar to a EULA script. Many thanks for your thoughts. David W Oliver

Company IT Security Policy. How?

This is/would be a the hard way to go. I don't personally know how this would work, although it would require not only a normal batch file but would take some programming Im sure. My only question is why would you want to NOT allow your worker's to access the network (Counterproductive) as with any business it is the normal communication method today. If there are solid company policies in place (Signed documents) in place with strict punishment for abuse, your personnel will soon learn after afew lost employees that abuse of the policy will not be tolerated. I also know through software there are ways to restrict abuse, or at least prevent it at the start. Im not sure the reasoning behind you wanting this in place but if it is only for internet access then it would be wiser to prevent them from abusing any policy without them knowing that you are, ie policys built into windows or Build yourself a custom made Internet Explorer program that is designed with the restriction you seek. here is a link to all the information you need to start customizing your own version of IE. GOOD LUCK!

1. So you want the script to be run during a domain logon?
-This script would be placed in the NETLOGON on the DC that authenticates the user. This would also be part of the users profile, as created on the DC.

2. What protocols are runningon the workstation? You want to disable all protocols and applications?
-Your script would have to run a program that disabled each protocol.
-For TCP/IP this would be a simple ifconfig statement that sets IP address to 0.0.0.0.
-The abovewould have disabled file and print services if you only have TCP/IP running. If this is running netbios, you would have to stop the file and print sharing client. "NET STOP" or even a NET LOGOFF.

Better yet, just have the application perform alogoff/shutdown.

regards,
Brian
