Hi
I tried to switch on my laptop on Tuesday night and left it running – only to discover 10 mins later that it still hadn’t loaded correctly. There was an error message saying that there had been problem with my Registry, so it had been recovered with an autosave, which was successful (or something like that, I didn’t actually read it properly). When I clicked OK, it carried on as if it was going to load windows XP, but only got as far as the blue windows screen just before it asks you to choose which account you want to log on with. So I switched it off and tried again – same thing, only without the error message.
I used a Startup disc last night, with no effect, so used the bootable Windows CD, but it still carries on to the same screen and stops. I’ve changed my setting in BIOS, but it won’t seem to load from the CD at all (the CD is being read), which means I can’t use the Recovery Console or reinstall. I have also tried the Last Known Good Configuration option, to no avail.
Can someone help?! Thanking you in advance!!
