Computer that I am working on:
Gateway; AMD Athlon 1000 MHz w/ new performance enhancing cache memory; 512MB- 133 SDRAM; Phillips 109B 19″ monitor; Windows Me; 40GB 7200RPM Ultra ATA hard drive; 4X AGP slot
My problem is once i have unistalled the old graphics card and installed the new Radeon 8500 GPU (hard core gamer edition, DDR) my monitor shuts down (little “on” light appears orange on montior)at different times during games (such as Motor City, Unreal Tournament, MDK2, etc…) It seems to happen mainly when i use the full screen option (w/games) although it does happen at other times also, like while im on the Internet. Its weird that i can play awhile then all of a sudden my screen goes blank and i can’t get out without cold booting the computer. Is it a compatibility problem with the Athlon or just something i havent installed correctly? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
