I was wondering what is the standard practice with other IT consultants when it comes to the amount of time we travel to clients. Do most consultants bill their clients for travel time, and if so, by actual time or by mileage? If by time, is it your standard hourly rate or some lower figure? I may spend a total of 12-15 hours per week just for travel. 40 billable hours is a big difference than 25-28 if I’m not compenstated for travel. Thanks for the feedback.
