Computer Hardware and Software Maintenance, Warranty, and Service Contracts

By ChampionSG ·
Hey Tech Republic,

Im preparing to launch a new business initiative and I could really use your input and feedback. We have an online marketplace that will focus primarily on companies computer hardware and software maintenance, warranty, and service contracts. The model is really very simple most companies have hundreds of hardware devices that either have a warranty or a maintenance contract associated to them; and at the end of the contract or warranty period, there are decisions that you need to make. You can:

Renew the Maintenance Contract with your current vendor
Renew the Maintenance Contract with a new vendor
Sell the old equipment and buy new hardware
Dispose of the equipment and buy new hardware...or my personal favorite..
Do Nothing and let your company be exposed

This on-line marketplace literally provides you a single resource that can help you make these important decisions. Whether its trying to obtain competitive maintenance quotes from several vendors, finding an IT disposal company in your area, or even introducing you to Solution Providers that will help you with the design a new infrastructure solution. This online marketplace also offers a free asset management system that will help you track all of your IT assets and their associated maintenance contracts, notifying you in advance of when equipment and software is coming off maintenance. And with a simple touch of a button, it will also run out and get 3 competitive bids for you to consider.

The best part the cost to the user is free. Our revenues would be from the associated maintenance contract and solution providers whose services have been utilized from the marketplace.

Heres my question - Is this something you and your company would use?

Please respond as soon as possible!

Thanks so much!

The cost to the user isn't 'free'.

And those providers are going to pass their costs (your revenues) on to the user.

No, we wouldn't use such a service.
