Computer No Picture

by onlinegeek101 . Updated 17 years, 8 months ago

My buddy has a desktop that he build and has had maybe for 3 years. He has two geforce 8600 graphics cards running in SLI and this system has been working since he got it. Recently when he came home he went to turn on his system and it sounded like it was starting up but he never recieved any picture and he noticed both his usb keyboard and mouse both were not powered. SO basically he has a machine that doesn’t give a picture and who’s usb ports are dead, anyone know what the cause of this could be? We have looked inside and we see no shynging or burn marks to indicated over heating of anything like that. Anyone know a good way to diagnose the problem, could it be the motherboard, graphics cards, port, pci slot? Where should I start the diagnosis.
