Computer not showing up on active directory

By justine_rivera ·
Hey all,

My issue is that i have this computer that im trying to re-add to my group in the Active Directory. But when i try to add it, the program tells me that the computer name already exists. When i try to search for it, it states that there are no matches found. Has anyone ever had this problem?

Manually add the computer name

Hi,
You need to manually add the computer name in the active directory and then on the client pc you just need to run a network id and bob's your uncle.just make sure that if you are using DHCP that the client receives and ip address and if it manually added just make sure it is in the correct ip range and subnet mask.Really hope it works for you!!!Cheers

The Computer SID already exists.

Try changing the SID.

I use this everytime I reload a box and rename it using our new naming convention.
