Computer Restarts Automatically

I installed windows xp home edition on the following computer specs:
AMD K6-2 450
TX-100 Motherboard
256MB memory

after installation i inserted a floppy to a floppy drive and then access that floppy but suddenly the computer restarts itself, at first i thought it’s just the floppy that goes bad so i inserted a new floppy again. same process, but the computer restarts again. i noticed that when i click the floppy drive icon in My Computer, and then when it touches the floppy the computer automatically restarts, i wonder what the problem is, pls help! this is the first time i encountered this kind of problem.
