Computer to TV

By kashmeir63 ·
Hi,
I would like to connect my computer to my TV.
How would I do this? And what are the best products out there to get this accomplished? Keeping cost in my mind. Thanks In advance

There are several video cards that will do this for you. They will have an S-video TV out port that you can connect to the S-video connection on the TV. As with any video card, prices vary. Many can be had for under $100. eVGA makes several low cost cards with TV out connections.

I hope this helps you.

If you get an ATI video card then let me know. I could help you throughout the whole process if you do. I use an ATI Radeon card with TV input but I don't use that function. I do use the function though to put the computer screen to the television (TV-out) which works great. Let me know if you do.

To accomplish this you need four things :)
1) Video card with TV out (like smedia or similar)
2) The Video card's tv adapter (usually bundled with card)
3) a 3 RSA male to 3 RSA male cable
4) a 2 RSA female to 3.5mm audio jack (aka "sound splitter)
5) a tv

3 and 4 arent critical, but important for not only pasing the video signal to the tv, but the audio as well. What we do is fairly easy, plug the two RSA's for audio into the splitter, then plug the splitter into your computers sound card. Plug the vga adapter for you GFX card into the yello RSA plug and plug it into your GFX card. The remaining three RSA plugs you can plug straigt into a stereo tv or you can daisy chain it, by plugging all three plugs into a video / dvd player then using the coaxial interface, plug it into the tv :) (most tvs dont neccesarily have a yellow plug for video in)

Beleive me its a lot easier than explained, just remeber the three basic rules of RSA
red to red (audio)
white to white (audio)
yellow to yellow (video)

:)
